Our organic lemon and date black tea
We begin with a rich, malty Assam black tea from India and bring it to life with lemon essential oil. The lively citrus character meets the mellow sweetness of dates and raisins, while cinnamon adds gentle warmth. A scattering of everlasting flowers brings a touch of colour to this distinctive Chabiothé blend.
We wanted the lemon to taste bright without overwhelming the full-bodied tea. The result is a fragrant balance of tangy, fruity and softly spiced notes that works particularly well at breakfast or during an afternoon break.
Serving suggestions
Enjoy hot with breakfast, on its own or with a little honey. For iced tea, leave the blend in cold water in the fridge for at least two hours, then strain. Add a fresh lemon slice for extra zing. As with most flavoured black teas, the first infusion generally offers the fullest expression of its aromas.
About the ingredients
Black tea naturally contains caffeine and polyphenols. Lemon essential oil brings an aromatic citrus note, but the small amount used in a tea blend should not be confused with consuming essential oil on its own. This recipe is made with organically grown ingredients.
