Our organic Lapsang Souchong smoked black tea
Lapsang Souchong is a celebrated Chinese black tea from Fujian province, known for its distinctive smoky, woody aroma. Traditionally, its character comes from drying tea leaves over pinewood fires. The result is an unmistakably robust infusion, with notes reminiscent of resin, woodsmoke and peat.
Our organic Lapsang Souchong is a tea for adventurous palates, but its surprising savoury character also makes it a wonderfully versatile culinary ingredient.
From teacup to kitchen
Steep carefully to bring out the smoky fragrance without too much bitterness. Enjoy it alone or alongside savoury foods and strong cheeses. In cooking, brewed Lapsang Souchong can lend a smoky note to marinades, sauces, stock, vegetables and even certain desserts.
A distinctive tea tradition
Traditional smoking and drying methods are part of the history of tea in the Wuyi mountain region of China. Smoked teas are subject to food safety requirements, including limits for certain compounds formed by smoke. The name Lapsang Souchong describes the style of tea; flavour intensity can vary between producers. Naturally contains caffeine.
