Organic thyme from Provence
Our organic French thyme (Thymus vulgaris) is grown in Provence by a cooperative of organic farmers. This much-loved Mediterranean herb has an unmistakably aromatic, lightly peppery flavour that belongs in both the kitchen cupboard and the herbal teapot.
Its fragrant leaves make a bold, warming infusion and are also perfect for bringing a savoury, sun-drenched note to countless recipes.
Infusion and cooking
Thyme has a powerful flavour, so pay attention to steeping time. If your infusion tastes too intense, add a little lemon juice or honey. In the kitchen, thyme complements roast vegetables, potatoes, meat, tomato sauces, marinades, soups and even a few sweet recipes.
Mediterranean tradition
Thyme has been used since antiquity in cooking and in traditional herbal preparations, especially during the colder months. Its history and aromatic appeal are well established, but claims that thyme tea treats respiratory or digestive illnesses require medical evidence and should not be assumed.
