Our organic green rooibos

Green rooibos is the less oxidised counterpart of the familiar red rooibos. This South African plant, Aspalathus linearis, grows naturally in the Cederberg region. Rather than being left to oxidise into a rich red colour, the harvested material is dried promptly, helping preserve its fresh, softly vegetal and slightly citrus-like taste.

Our organic green rooibos comes from a certified farm near Graafwater, South Africa, where production is overseen from cultivation to processing.

Enjoying green rooibos

Steep in hot water for a gentle cup with a clean, lightly herbal finish. Like red rooibos, it contains no caffeine and is naturally low in tannins, making it an easy choice at any time of day. It also makes a lovely chilled infusion.

How it differs from red rooibos

The main difference is processing: traditional red rooibos develops colour through oxidation, while green rooibos is dried to limit this transformation. The lighter processing gives it a different aroma and colour. Both styles are brewed from the same South African plant and have their own distinctive flavour.
