Organic Black Peppercorns
An aromatic pepper with smoky, woody notes
Ingredient: whole organic black peppercorns (Piper nigrum L.), MG1 grade, from Malabar, India.

Organic Malabar black pepper
Our whole Malabar black peppercorns (Piper nigrum) come from the southwest coast of India, a region closely associated with the long history of the spice trade. These carefully selected organic berries reveal deep, warm spice and distinctive notes of exotic wood, with subtler floral and fruity hints.
The initial heat is lively yet balanced, making this a versatile pepper for everyday cooking and more elaborate recipes.
How to cook with Malabar pepper
Grind the peppercorns just before serving to preserve their complex aroma. They are delicious with meat, fish, vegetables, sauces, marinades and roasted dishes. Add towards the end of cooking for a brighter flavour, or earlier for a softer, more integrated spiciness.
Harvest and storage
Black peppercorns are harvested before they are fully ripe and dried until their skins darken and wrinkle. The dried berries are sorted and graded for quality. Keep whole peppercorns in an airtight container away from light and moisture, ideally grinding only as much as you need.
